Purchased new by Henry Black 4/2/59 5/59 Wilmot Raceway SCCA 7th 7/59 " " " 5th 8/59 " 9th 5/60 " 6th Needless to say he was a weekend cowboy racer and def. no front runner! Sold in 1968 to Asheville, NC Richard L. Best. I have a letter in my file showing the car had racing screens, extra leaf in springs, comp oil cooler and 10,000 miles. Short rear axle ratio and car in superb condition with all original panels. 1981 Ed Colt purchased the car in Colorado Springs, Co 1981 Tom Daly purchased the car in Hiwat, Co. Bill Murray claims he Daly owned the car until 2005 and drove the car only 100 miles in 24 years! Sat in Bill Murray's shop for many many years. After Bill Murray did the restoration the car was moved into the Shelby Museum on display where it sat from 96-2005 with only 17k actual miles. Bill said to me in a lengthy phone conversation the car was the best AC he had ever seen or ever worked on. Said the car left the factory with the comp mods. Bill installed the cobra roll bar and the LeMans exhaust. 9/05 sold to Ron Leonard 11/-5 sold to Roy Crowninshield who raced the car 2x in vintage races 8/10 I purchased the car. I removed the cross brace from the roll bar and the kill switch that was mounted in the glove box. I have driven it circa 500 miles and it drives excellent. Just added a better cooling fan and did some minor tune up and car runs superb. One of the most beautiful curved windscreen AC's in the world. Matching #'s and fully sorted.
